This private tour has been designed to highlight Christianity in Rome, from past to present. Our Guests will have ample time to explore such sites as The Vatican, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, as well as St. John in Lateran Basilica and the Roman Catacombs. This exclusive history of Christianity in Rome tour will enable our Guests to create memories and photos that last a lifetime.  

                                                                                      Overview:
Waiting on your ship's pier at the time of your preference will be your professional, English speaking, driver - guide. Holding a sign with your group's name, your driver - guide will escort you to your private, clean, late - model, waiting vehicle. Sit back and relax in the comfort of your private vehicle as you travel the 90 minutes through the Etruscan Countryside enroute to the heart of Rome.

Upon your arrival in Rome, you will be delighted to a panoramic view before arriving at Saint Peter's Square, the Vatican, and Sistine Chapel for this two hour experience. In the Vatican Museum, walk through some of the thousands of rooms containing amazing treasures and art collected by Popes throughout the century. Continue your walk through the Sistine Chapel to view Michelangelo's frescoes masterpieces including "Creation" on the cieling and the "Last Judgment" on the altar wall. Complete your tour of the Vatican  by exploring St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world and view famous art and mosaics as well as the beautiful carved Bernini Pulpit. 

Your private tour continues as you are driven through Rome to St. John in Lateran Basilica. Enroute you may choose to stop for lunch in one of Rome's many Piazza's such as Piazza Navona. During your drive through Rome, your Driver - Guide will point out and explain many of the historical sites you pass including Circus Maximus, Palatine Hill, The Colosseum, and the Arch of Constantine. Upon your arrival at St. John in Lateran Basilica, take time to explore this Cathedral of the Church of Rome and the official ecclesiastical seat of the Bishop of Rome, otherwise known as the Pope.

St. Paul Outside the Wall, one of the four churches considered to be the ancient basilica of Rome, will be your next stop. It is here at this breathtaking Basilica that St. Paul is buried. Continue along the along the Appian Way,  where escaping Peter encountered a vision of Christ, to the Roman Catacombs. The Catacombs, is a network of underground tunnels and the resting place for many Romans as burials were forbidden in the city during ancient times. After leaving the Catacombs, you will be driven to see St. Peter in Chains.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, including your thorough exploration of Rome. Our driver - guides have extensive knowledge and expertise of the history, customs, and culture of Rome in addition to the layout of the streets. Unlike the restrictions for large coach buses, your driver - guide will do his or her best to drive you in your private vehicle to as close to the site as allowed by law. Additionally, if you have any specific requests or you would prefer to focus your tour on a specific area of Rome, your driver - guide will do his or her best to accomodate your needs.

The tour can be customized to your preference. The order of the tour may be modified to maximize your time and enjoyment. While we will make every attempt to include all parts of the tour as listed above, there is the slight possibility that for reasons beyond our control,  an aspect of the tour will need to be skipped, replaced, or modified. While we suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes and clothing, please respect local customs of covering shoulders and knees when visiting a religious site. A strict dress code is enforced and shorts or revealing clothing is not permitted in the Vatican including Saint Peter's Basilica. The Vatican Museum is closed on Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday and all religious sites, including Saint Peter's Basilica may close at random times to host events. To maximize your experience and enjoyment, we strongly suggest and we will be happy to do so at no extra charge, acquiring tickets with specific entrance times to the Vatican and Colosseum. For your protection and convenience, payment must be made through credit card on The Guest Planners secure payment processing system. We will be happy to accept multiple credit cards for your group. Due to Italian Law prohibiting driver - guides from entering sites with their Guests, you may choose to tour the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter's Basilica with an officially licensed English Speaking Tour Guide. On this in depth tour, you will be met by your private tour guide upon your arrival at the Vatican. Your four hour private and exclusive fully escorted walking tour with licensed tour guide will explore many of the incredible rooms and sites of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter's Basilica. You then have the option of continuing to explore Rome, including the St. John in Lateran Basilica and the Roman Catacombs on your own or with a tour guide.

On Sunday's and Holiday's due to the Vatican's closure, The Guest Planners suggests not touring the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter's Basilica with our tourguide.

Sunday and Holiday Supplement: Due to government regulations, if this exploration takes place on a Sunday or National Holiday, an additional 90 Euros must be added to the total.

Cancelation Policy and Terms and Conditions: If your cruise ship misses the port of call for any reason, you will receive a full refund. However, if you need to cancel, The Guest Planners policy is as follows:
14 days or more prior to your tour - No Penalty
8 to 13 days prior to your tour - 25% Penalty
4 to 7 days prior to your tour - 50% Penalty
3 or fewer days prior to your tour - 100% Penalty
